Crafting Unique and Compelling B&W Images
** Our March Meeting is Cancelled**
Chuck will speak about how we can grow as photographers and as artists, and the importance of creating unique and compelling work with our singular vision and style. To grow as a photographer and as an artist, we need to think about what we would like to achieve and where we would like to go. But, before we can begin any journey, we first need to know where we exist at this very moment.
Through discussions about the methods and importance of creating unique and compelling work with our individual visions and styles, we will look at ways we can better understand and direct our journey. Chuck’s recent move from the wide-open landscapes of Wyoming to the confining enclosures of New York City has given him unique insight to, and tested, the creative process and his personal vision.
Chuck is a photojournalist-turned-landscape photographer who is best known for his reticent, balanced, and quiet, black and white photographs of the northern and central plains. As a photojournalist, he and his three fellow photographers were named as finalists for the 1997 Pulitzer Prize for Spot News Photography. As a landscape photographer, his work has been extensively exhibited and included in publications from across the globe, including Turkey, New Zealand, Great Britain, Italy, and Russia, among others.
