Baseball finds another way to screw it up.

That game Sunday? should not have been played.
The all star "tie"
The Mitchell report.

baseball is a joke.

Definitely agree with those first 2 points. Not sure what you getting at with Mitchell report. Players screwed up themselves when they juiced up and everyone looked the other way. Another stupid thing in baseball is the 1st round format. 2 teams in same division can't play each other. Not saying anything would have changed, Philly had best team in baseball this year, but the cubs got shafted having to play the dodgers instead of the brewers. Line 'em up 1-4 and let em play. Just like the other sports.

Congrats to Phillies and their fans. I'll admit it i jumped on the bandwagon. But as a mets' fan I think the Phillies should all send the mets bullpen thank you notes for all there blown leads after 7 innings. :). At least the Yankees were out of it and hank whining about Torre was sweet. OBTW I used to hate 3 teams in baseball, the Yankees, dodgers and Phillies. Perhaps because while growing up, my mets were cellar dwellers while these teams were very good. Now its just not that important to me to root against anyone........ except the Yankees ;D

Burrell and his $17 million will be going bye-bye, Phillies will pick up a replacement, they will spend the $17 million in arbitrations, Chase Utley's Mom will wash his mouth out with soap after has remarks today, and the Phillies will be back in the playoffs once again next year no matter how much the Mets spend again to pick up new players. The Yankees will be back next year with a solid group of starters. Phils-Yankees? My dream WS.

I was in Philly today, and the fans were CRAZY!  My daughter attends Temple University, and she scheduled a doctor's appt. before the Phillie's won the World Series.  It was not a good day to be in Philly unless you were there as a Phillie Phan.  When we arrived at 9:30 a.m., there were already throngs of people lining the parade route and the parade did not start until noon.  They were cheering every car that drove past as if they were celebrities.  There were probably a lot of empty classrooms today; not to mention all the adults running around.  You should have seen all the people who were dressed up.  When I went out to put more money in the parking meter, I saw Phillie Phans walking down the street drinking champagne right out of the bottle, dressed up, and hooting and hollering.  When we left, around 4:30 p.m. there were still huge throngs celebrating all over the city.

And if I may turn the tables, no matter how much the Yankees spend, the    Red Sox                                  Red Sox                                  Red Sox       ;D ;D ;D ;Dwill be in the playoffs.

Brian---Nice pic!!!  LOL!!!!

I agree---I'd like to see the Phillies play the Yankees--any year.  I prefer the Yankees but the Phillies really did play well.  Hasn't it been like 28 years since their last World Series win (80 and 81 I think)?
