Tethered shoting and Lapse Time photos
« on: October 02, 2008, 08:14:59 am »
MACs and Nikons are COOL. I just discovered that OSx comes with a little utility program called Image Capture which will control my D-300, take a photo, download it and then erase  the camera memory. This will be great for a tethered studio type shoot where you or a client want to see immediate results. The MAC knows that I have a D-300 camera as soon as it's plugged in.

Now if I can just find a script or little program that will let me set the interval between shots and then download the shot and erase the camera memory, I can envision all kinds of fun capturing things like building going up, a butterfly emerging from the cocoon, a flower blooming, etc. -- Has anyone seem a script or program with adjustable time intervals to do this?

Chet,

With Vista, it knows what model Olympus I have plugged in.
I wonder if this is available for windows.
I know olympus studio does this, for 100.00.

Tutorial for tethered shooting into Lightroom, via your camera's basic remote control software.

Camera's tend to have their USB configured as a mass storage device, so any USB host will see it as a hard drive with a manufacturer and type string.

Thanks Ray,

The Apple standard software does everything Kelby is doing. I'm looking for the addition feature of lapse time and interval control without having to purchase the NIKON control software for $160.

Ah, didn't realize Nikon made you pay for the basic control util. That's kind of chessy. OTOH, the one for Pentax generally locks up your PC after 3 frames, so, I guess you get what you pay for.
