I'm switching...
« on: September 30, 2008, 03:28:22 pm »
I decided this Canon lens is just too impressive not to switch to Canon.  Not to mention the price is right.

My guess is that Scott is the only one interested in buying it, simply because  he's the only one big enough in the club to lift it.

does it mount to a 50D? :)
will it be long enough not to violate bird watching regulations? :)

I found a tripod for it.

LOL - Jeff, my biggest problem has been finding a shoulder strap that will hold.   ;)

The craziness of owning such a piece of equipment notwithstanding, when I looked at the guys ad, I wondered if that was either a joke or a scam. There appeared to be some differences between the "model" displayed with him in the shot and the one shown standing alone that looks like a professional ad for the unit. And, to me the actor looks like a look-alike, though I could be wrong. Just my skeptical nature of online sales.

Come on.. look at this thing!!

This is the only ultra-telephoto lens in the world capable of taking photographs of objects 18 to 32 miles away (30km to 52kms away). Having a focal length of 5200mm, Canon Mirror Lens 5200mm can obtain one hundred times as large an object image as that of a 50mm lens.

I mean.. that's almost enough power to located Alice's sense of humor!
