You sound like someone who is in the "misery loves company" camp.   Is there something you aren't telling me about the E-3?    ;D

You mean the flash shoe cap?   If so, I lost the one for my E-500 like the very first time I shot my camera.   LOL

BTW.. something announced with the new micro 4-3rds release.

Quote
In addition, users will be able to mount existing Four Thirds System wide-angle, telephoto, and macro lenses on Micro Four Thirds System bodies via an adapter.

That's huge.   Can you imaging mounting your 50-200mm on the micro 4-3rds body?  LOL    None the less, being able to mount some of the smaller lenses is a huge advantage.

The E-3 Wins EISA Award
August 2008

EISA states: "The Olympus E-3 is a comfortable (but robust) camera that offers a high level of protection against water and dust. It provides very effective image stabilization, dust removal and a Live View function on the articulated LCD screen, but most importantly, its image quality and ease of use are very impressive. The Olympus E-3 is perfectly suited for professional demands."

Ask Nick how his held up shooting waterfalls yesterday.   ???  Seems like Oly is a little more sensitive to moisture than Nikons. 8)

I'm starting to think Nick purchased an E-3 built on the Friday at 4:59PM before a 3 day weekend.   Either that or he literally stores his E-3 in a watering hole in the back yard and plays kick the can with his E-3 and lenses.   I'm thinking he may want to adopt this practice to whatever he is using:

I have an opportunity to buy one of these lenses at a great price however, I'm new to this and have not figured out what the numbers mean. I do know that they are good for wide angle shots but which one would be better. Which one would you buy?

11-22mm f2.8/3.5 Zuiko Lens
12-60mm f2.8/4.0 Zuiko Lens

IMHO, the 12-60mm is faster, but the 11-22 is sharp, albeit a more specific lens.

Nick,
I have the 12-60 and think it is great.  It focuses extremely fast and is a great general purpose lens.

I think you would get much more utility out of the 12-60mm as it has a bit more versatility in general purpose use.   It's next on my "want" list for lenses.

New marketing campaign hit this month

Although we know it's all false advertising since it's impossible to shoot sports photography with an E-3.    ;)
