I think Mark Twain said "Quitting is easy.  I've done it a thousand times."

Dec 07 for me -- If smoking would not kill me, I'd do it more.

Sometimes you say... "I should just go back to smoking" but you know you really don't want to...

I quit smoking (Kools---over 25 years) back in March of 89 while having Pneumonia for the second time and constant bouts of bronchitis.  Most of the men in my family died of lung cancer so I figured I was pushing my luck by continuing to smoke.  Wow---next year will be 20 years as a non-smoker so I should be almost normal by now......  I still have lung problems off and on and a bit of asthma.  My Mom is 77 and still smokes at least a pack a day!!  She is gradually starting to have some vascular problems because of it and is cutting back a bit I think.  She used to be a 2 pack a day Marlboro smoker ever since I can remember.

My mother smoked ~2 packs/day of Salem 100's for 50 years.

It killed her.

Before she died, she made me promise I'd stop.

My mother died at 62 from lung cancer.  How can anyone smoke with what we know now?  Stop while you can.

My mother died in 1992 of breast cancer... she was only 52.   She smoked Lucky Strikes her whole life right up to her death bed.   I've never smoked.....
