Saturday, November 13th Philadelphia Photo Shoot

This photo shoot involves a trip to the Eastern State Penitentiary and will end up at the Italian Market where we can have lunch.  We will meet at ESP at the Main Entrance (in front of the building) at 10:00 a.m.  I took a class there with Dan's, and they recommended that we bring our tripods or monopods due to the slower shutter speeds.  It is also a good place to practice with color gels if you have them.  You are allowed to go into some of the cells, but not all of them.  However, there is a lot to see inside and outside of the buildings.  Here is some information about a coupon:  http://www.easternstate.org/visit/coupon/

Parking Information:
On-Street Parking:
There is ample on-street parking surrounding the Penitentiary. While the parking is unmetered, some streets do have a two or three hour limit.

Parking Lot:

Sorry, but right now I can't think about this as I am trying to finish all my plans before I leave for the funeral.  If the other members on the Events Committee have time to check out other dates that is fine with me.  I have no interest in going to Invision, but others may.

I for one would absolutely love to go to ESP, but can't make the 6th.  I would not be at all heartbroken if it got rescheduled. =)

Let's see what we can do about rescheduling.  I can't make it on the 6th and with it being Inovision, we may want to look at the following week for this event.

I agree with rescheduling since InVision is going on Saturday, November 6th in the Valley. Maybe the next weekend?

Please - reschedule!  I definitely can't go on the sixth, and I'd really love to go back to the Penitentiary.  I went on the Dan's expedition, too, and it was a blast.  The Penitentiary is definitely a photographer's playground!

Okay, I checked and there does not seem to be any reason why we can't change the photo shoot date to the 13th.  In fact, they will have a special feature on that day for movie buffs.

The Events Committee has decided to postpone the Mercer Photo Shoot until January.  We will let you know what date and time when we post our up date for the Events Schedule.

I wish I could come, but have company coming the weekend of the 13th.  I went with Dan's (along with Rhonda) and had a great time.  I entered one of my photos from here into a photo contest of National Historic Landmarks and got an honorable mention   I just found out today they are making a calendar out of the images.
