COME OUT TO THE CLUB’S JUNE 12th EVENT – CIVIL WAR DAYS
For each of the last two years our June event has been photographing the Lehigh Valley Civil War Days, held at the Whitehall Parkway Recreation Area on South Church Street. Once again we have been invited back and given a spot to put up out tent and hang our banner. However, our purpose there is to photograph the event, not to “sell” the club. As such, we wander around the camp and take shots (photographically speaking, of course) at will. Our tent provide us shade…bringing a folding chair is optional.
This year it opens up on Saturday, June 12th at 9:00am. This has given club members an opportunity to shoot something different and interesting, as well as expose the existence of our club to potential new members. So, come out part or all of the day and try some creative shots of the event. Don’t forget to WEAR YOUR LVPC BADGE. Following the event, those who wish to contribute some of their shots to Friends of Camp Geiger, the event sponsor, may do so by submitting them to the club on a disk. In the past, we have transformed collected shots into a slideshow for their use.
If you’ve been there in past years, you know there is always something interesting to shoot. If you haven’t experienced such an event, come out and enjoy the day. Check out the forums for photos and comments from past Civil War Days. To learn more about this Civil War encampment visit
