I have had reviews on this picture that it was too closely cropped and maybe the color wasn't what it should be....
I was thinking of Georgia O'keefe when I took this picture. I also love to use topaz, grunge layers and the high pass filter on my pictures. Here is my first and then to maybe the new improved(?). Tell what you think...and better yet, show me what you would do with the rose.

Here is the rose cleaned to begin with...

(it might have a layer on it and topazed, oops!)
In this first picture of the rose I put in on a new squared white background. I used small details topaz and reduced it to 30%. I then used this grunge layer on color dodge.
Grunge layer I.

Grunge layer II as soft light.

Then I used this frame and changed layer setting to "multiply".

I then merge all layers. I made a duplicate layer and then use the high pass filter @ 11.0 and change the layer to "Hard Light". Change the opacity to 20%.
Here is the one I ended up with this morning... I didn't put it in a squared format which I do think helped it look better. I also didn't grunge, high pass filter or topaz as heavily as the first one.
