We will have more info on that after our Executive Board Meeting on Monday, February 4th...

I am shooting (LOL!!) for Sunday the 17th of February around Noontime till 3-ish at the Banana Factory for our Group Shoot for February.  This is also a Month-long Location Shoot so anyone who can't make it to the Club Group Shoot can go to the Banana Factory anytime during the calendar month of February and post their photos on the Club site with the participants.  I still need to make sure that this date and time won't be a problem for the Banana Factory.  The Group Shoot there will be a great opportunity for us to check out their facility and see how we can all mutually benefit from an association with their organization.  As soon as I hear back from their Director of Hospitality I will post the Event here.
Feel free to make as many suggestions as possible for event ideas.  If you can get details as to when a venue is open or contact info, that would also be a big help.  At our next Board meeting we will discuss the method of choosing a Group Event and Location Shoot or Shoots, whether at Board Meetings or Club Meetings or by vote on this Forum.

It's a great place.
I have taken several photo classes there w/the Banana Factory & their resident artists. Also did a project hands on in the glass studio, that was great fun!
1st friday is a nice thing to go to also.

Rick Holt has a studio on the 3rd floor & he is a WEALTH of info on photoshop!  He teaches several classes a year in his studio & then he also teaches at the Art Wolfe studio in WA & for the people at HootHollow.

I talked to Rick one time before about teaching classes for a photography club & he was willing to try & work it into his schedule.
It's not cheep but you learn so much!

If this is an interest I can speak with him again about setting up a class.  His studio I think can take 6 people for a class.

Hello,

I am new to this club, just posted a brief biography in that forum.

I have never been to the Banana Factory.  What sorts of things will be "available" to shoot at the club event?  I am mostly an outdoor/nature shooter but who knows what else may look good through the lens!

Thanks
Ken

I had it but I slipped on the ice the other day and fell... :-\  I did hold it up in the air though so that it would not break. :)  When I was getting up I lowered the E-3 to get a grip so I could get back up and the E-3 got washed away by the water running down the street... :P By the time I got to the E-3 it was totally covered with ice... :'( I left to get a chisel to break it out but when I got back to the "Scene" there were at least 10 other people there with hammers and picks... :-* I was not about to push a die-hard Oly fan out of the way to get it.... ::)... Sorry ;D
