March 10 for submissions to the gallery and 5 days for voting for 10 (no more than 2 from any member) Certainly post any that you feel should be considered; but, only 2 per member after the vote) and then submission by the 20th to the competition.  @Brian:  could you put a statement on the front of the webpage and a link to the image submission info?  http://www.mvcameraclub.org/comp-interclub/comp-interclub-01-glennie.htm.  The entry fee is $15 (from the club).  Thanks!!

We're going to cut off voting on the 13th, so that we have time to identify the entrants and finalize the format and naming for each entry.  Once we have the final count and have identified the top 10, please let us know who you are!
Thanks!

Please send the top 10 images to me ASAP.  Proper naming convention and size must be followed as indicated on the MVCC site info.  If you are unable to do this, let me know what the title is and how you wish your name to appear.  Thanks!

This might be a lame question, but what are the top 10? Was it posted somewhere or is it the top 10 with the most votes?

Image Preparation:

Each digital image may have a maximum width of 1024 pixels and a maximum height of 768 pixels (for a handy resizing calculator click here). The image must be submitted in JPEG (.jpg) format, and the size is limited to no more than 1 Megabyte (MB). It is suggested that the image resolution be no greater the 100 pixels per inch (ppi) and that the color space be sRGB.

An image filename shall consist of the following: 4 alphanumeric characters indicating the camera club (each club may choose their own); followed immediately by a dash (-); followed immediately by a 2 digit number indicating the image number shown on the registration form; followed immediately by a dash (-); followed immediately the image title (with spaces filled in with underscores); followed immediately by a dash (-); followed immediately by the maker’s first and last name separated by an underscore. As an example, the following would be the image filename for the 4th image submitted by MVCC, with “Purple Fish” as the title and John Doe as the maker.

Here is how the voting went:

Alien Landscape (my title only)    Susan Brown     11 votes
Marigold   Lee Friend   10 votes
Squirrel inside log      Brian Kiefer   9 votes
2 Squirrels  Carol McGee    8 votes
Osprey with Fish    Brian Kiefer     8 votes
Horse    Sandy Gelatt     7 votes
Eagle Flying   TS Wescott    7 votes
Yellow flower   Jeff Grim   7 votes
Snails   Judy Zabrecky   6 votes
leaf and stones   Lee Friend   5 votes

The snow capped mountain was Jeff Grim's and received 6 votes.  But, Jeff withdrew this image due to poor sizing for the competition.  I then chose the next one down which was 5 votes - the leaf and stones  Wink.

I'm still waiting to hear back from Carol McGee and Susan Brown regarding name and sizing, respectively.  Let's get this show on the road, folks!!  I'd like to send our club entry in by Wednesday, 3/18.
Thanks!

That looks like eight different members...teriffic! There are a number of great nature photographers in our group that didn't participate, and I hope they do next time around.

I've looked at their website, re judging results from prior years. I think it will be both fun and worthwhile to have entered this, and to see where we stand in this initial effort.

Hi,
I am Susan. The alien landscape is the Travertine Terrace at Mammoth Hot Springs, Yellowstone NP. What info do you need? I will be at the meeting tonight.

All,
The results are in for the Glennie Competition: http://mvcameraclub.org/pdf/2010-Glennie-Club-Scores.pdf We scored 201 points for 93rd place....out of 111 clubs from around the world!!  The top club was the Cape Cod club with 246 points.  Just as a point of interest, the Hillcrest Club scored 213 points for 60th place.  They haven't posted the winning images yet...I'd love to review them.  Remember, there is always next year!!

I think it's an accomplishment that we entered the contest.  Congratulations to our members who submitted photos for the contest. We have many fine photographers who chose not to submit for whatever reason, and I'd hope we could get more participation next year. Good effort!!
