Sunday, October 18th---Prime Foliage Weekend at DWG

Two time options here--

--Some want to start VERY EARLY in the morning and catch some sunrise shots.  It was suggested that the early birds then meet for breakfast in the DWG area and meet up with the...
--later group around 9:30 or 10 am at Muller's Diner south of Fernwood Resort on US 209 and then take one of the hourly DWG Trolley Rides, which run every hour, rain or shine. I have a coupon for 10% off the trolley ride, making the cost $7.65 each.

NEW  INFO---Early birds----there has been some confusion about the meeting place.  Early birds will meet at 5 am in the commuter lot at PA 33 and William Penn Hwy/Easton Ave. It is just south of US 22 in Bethlehem Twp.  It is the parking area for the commuter buses to NYC.

OUR  GROUP RESERVATION IS FOR 1 PM.  Please sign up in this thread because I need to give the trolley company an accurate headcount at 9 am on Sunday morning.  We will be meeting @ 12:30 pm in the town of Delaware Water Gap at the light on PA 611.  There is a parking area there for the trolley.  I have some coupon books for the area with discounts on shopping and restaurants.  Trolley fare is $7.65.  The ride is 12 miles and takes about an hour.

We will need to make a reservation since that will be the premier foliage weekend!!  Please sign up here on the forum page if you are interested in going.  Let us know if you want to be an early bird or if you want to sleep in a bit and whether you are interested in going on the trolley ride.

Breakfast time and location to be announced here a bit closer to the date.  If you have a favorite spot up in the DWG area, please suggest it here!!

Also---if you'd like to hike to a particular spot, make it known here on the forums and chances are someone will probably want to join you.

I will be going early to Hidden Lake, weather permitting.  I was there last year at sunrise and it was amazing.  Once the sun comes over the hill, the colors and reflections are amazing.  I also saw that there is an abandoned cabin which I missed last year.  So please let me know if you would like to join me.  Attached is a shot from Hidden Lake from last year.

Your picture reminds me of why I like Autumn so much.  The colors are beautiful.

Hi
As of now I would say "yes" to joing the group, unless something happens.
How long of a ride is it to the location from Bethlehem?
I would be interested in the Hidden Lake area also

Hidden Lake is close to Fernwood, just off 209 (a right if you are going north).  It get nice sunrise exposure.
