Back from the shoot and we had a great time. The weather held out pretty well, only a few showers here and there. We certainly had enough to eat!! Our Family Style table at Haag's Hotel was LOADED with food.
Roadside America was just as I remembered it. We stayed the full 2 hours and we were shooting away. I dropped some quarters into their fantastic antique player piano that also has other band instruments in it. Wait till you see the photos of this splendid mechanical marvel!! I even took a short movie of it in action.
After Roadside America and Haag's Hotel, we horsed around a bit and took some photos in downtown Shartlesville along Old 22. A few people stopped off at Cabela's in nearby Hamburg. I had never been there and my curiosity was killing me. I ended up taking a lot of photos of their trophy wildlife that is arranged all around the store. There's everything from foxes, bears and beavers to elephants, zebras and wildebeasts. It is almost like a museum!!
Just remember that if you didn't make it to the Shoot today, you have the rest of the month of April to post photos of Roadside America and the town of Shartlesville, PA that were taken anytime during the month of April. Please upload your favorite photos to either the Gallery in this website (2 MB per photo limit) and/or upload to our Club's Flickr Group
www.flickr.com/groups/LVPC/.
Hope to see you at our next Location Shoot in May---Lock Ridge Park and Furnace Museum. The date will be announced on the topic thread very shortly. We are hoping to get a private Furnace Museum viewing/shooting time for Club Members by the park staff before or after hours.
