LVPC's Monthly Newsletter

I have had several members ask me about items that are included in the newsletter; especially in regards to the photo walk photos.

So.......here's the Who, What, When, Where, and How.  

1. Monthly Assignment Winner - If you are the winner, send me your winning photo and the details (W,W,W,W,&H) including the EXIF (if you wish) to include with the photo. Send the photo to me no smaller then 2,736 pixels on the smallest side of the photo. This photo gets a 1/2 page to itself in the newsletter so anything smaller will decrease the final copy look of your photo. (You may copyright your photo before sending but don't watermark it so we can see the full photo.)

2. Monthly Photo Walks - After each photo walk that you attend (OR if you go to the walk location on your own during the same month), send me two (2) photos of your choice. If I can use two photos for everyone, I will. If a lot of members attend I may only be able use one. By sending me two, I have a choice - but please don't send me ten to choose from! These photos should be no smaller then 1024x768. I don't pull photos from the forums for the newsletter because I want you to pick YOUR 1 or 2 favorite(s) from the photo walk AND your photos are downsized for web viewing here. (You may copyright your photo before sending but don't watermark it so we can see the full photo.)

3. Meet the Club Member column - This is open to ALL members. It's first come, first published. Let us know what sparked YOUR interest in photography.   (See the separate thread for this here: http://www.lvphotographyclub.org/forum/index.php?topic=1159.msg11283#new )

4. All items are due by the 25th of each month to give me time to look at photo placement for the photo walk page(s). The rest of the newsletter is pretty much "drop in" now that I have a standard template.  Plus, it helps me to get the newsletter out to the membership by the 1st of each month.

5. Submit all items to me at publicrelations@lvphotographyclub.org

Starting this month, the LVPC Newsletter will be emailed.  

NOTE: The newsletter is usually 1-3 MB in size due to the photographs it contains.

If you prefer to read the newsletter here, email me to opt out of the emailed version at publicrelations@lvphotographyclub.org with the subject line "Newsletter Opt Out".

Mainly, because we have some members who never (or rarely) visit the forums/website.  
We are hoping that by emailing the newsletter, we will have more participation in the club activities.

The newsletter will continue to be posted on the main page of the website that's why I posted the notice
on opting out of the emailed copy for those prefer to access it here on the website.
(Either way, it will open on your computer as a .pdf document.)
