All I can say is...wow! I've seen Canon and Nikon head in the direction of a supercharged P&S that emulates features of a DSLR, without requiring additional lenses, but this one seems to take the cake. Does it make breakfast for you as well? The only time I pack my DSLR is when I'm headed for a specific photo shoot.

No comment on the banning part.

I have read a lot of good reviews on many of the Sony cameras, but to be honest, I don't know anyone shooting with them.  Anyone?  Do we have any Sony users out there and what do you think of your cameras?

I can't imagine moving from Canon (not because I believe are better, but rather that's what I've owned and am used to). These new bridge cameras seem to be the way the non-professional photography may be headed. All in for $500? Again, wow! Now, if it only fit in my pocket.

Here's another link reviewing the new Sony.

I have a Sony A200 and LOVE it!

I got mine new - on sale - at the Sony Store @ Philadelphia Premium Outlets for just under $600 with 1 lens.
(It's the lens on the camera in the photo above.)

Going Sony was an easy choice for me because I can use the 2 lens (pictured above left) that I inherited
from my Uncle with the A200.
