I have the beginnings of a "beauty dish" that I am making out of 2 plastic storage containers!  I found this on the strobist website.  I like this:   http://scottj.info/files/strobist-lighting101.pdf . All kinds of stuff on there too. 

Nice link, Scott.  I checked it out ....I have the clothes for starters - no beard though.
