–later group around 9:30 or 10 am and then take one of the hourly DWG Trolley Rides, which run every hour, rain or shine. I have a coupon for 10% off the trolley ride, making the cost $7.65 each.

We will need to make a reservation since that will be the premier foliage weekend!! Please sign up here on the forum page if you are interested in going. Let us know if you want to be an early bird or if you want to sleep in a bit and whether you are interested in going on the trolley ride.

Since this is our Location Shoot of the Month, you can shoot ANY covered bridge in the Lehigh Valley during the calendar month of November and include it in our November “Share Your Images” thread.

Our November meeting is scheduled for the 20th at the Banana Factory.  This will be a critique of member photos.  All are encouraged to participate.

Our Program for this meeting will be “Digital Work Flow” by Scott B. Husted.

Scott is a relative newcomer to the world of photography and digital imaging. He purchased his first DSLR camera in 2006, an Olympus E-500, in order to take up a new hobby to combine with his love of automobile racing. Scott has always had a passion for computers and technology and quickly became fascinated with digital imaging and post processing techniques using Adobe Photoshop and most recently, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. Scott is a member of The National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP).

Naomi Halperin is Director of Photography at The Morning Call. She is Past President of the Associated Press Photo Managers and was invited to participate as a juror on the Pulitzer Committee in 2008. Her presentation, “The Power of the Still Photograph in Journalism” will clarify the role and importance of images that we see in our news on a daily basis.

She has a BFA in Photography from Syracuse University.

Ms. Halperin has offered to critique 1-2 photographs from members after her presentation (on cd or flash drive).

Please set aside time to attend our meeting, Thursday, July 17, 7-9PM at the Banana Factory, Bethlehem, PA.

Photos will be accepted until June 10 at 7pm. At that time you may start voting in the contest area of the members only section. Voting will be done from 6/10 to 6/14 until 7pm.

Remember that you are only allowed 1 photo per person and that photo cannot be any older than May 15, 2008.

ONLY up to date paid members are allowed to enter this contest so if you are not a member or did not renew yet then do so now.

From Route I-78 (East or West): Take exit 67 (Hellertown/Bethlehem). From east: Cross Rt. 412 onto Silvex Rd. From west: Turn right at exit onto Rt. 412. Turn left onto Silvex Rd. Bear left at fork and continue to William St. At stop sign, go straight to College Dr. Turn right at stop sign onto Mountain Dr. Follow signs for Asa Packer Campus. Bear left at fork. Follow Mountain Dr. until end. Turn left at stop sign onto Hayes St. Turn left onto 8th St. Bear right onto Fillmore St. Make immediate left onto Packer Ave. Zoellner is first building on left.
From Points South: Take Northeast Extension (Rt. 476) of PA Turnpike north to exit 44 (Quakertown). Turn left onto Rt. 663. Turn left onto Rt. 309 north. Turn right onto Rt. 378 north. Continue over South Mountain. About halfway down mountain, at second set of blinking lights, turn right onto Summit St. At end, turn left onto Brodhead Ave. At stop sign, turn right onto Packer Ave. Zoellner is last building on right.
From North Bethlehem: Take New St. south over Fahey Bridge. Turn left onto Third St. At light, turn right onto Webster St. Turn left onto East Packer Ave. Zoellner is last building on right.
From Fountain Hill: Go east on Broadway. Cross Rt. 378 to South Bethlehem. At light, turn right onto Fourth St. At light, turn right onto Brodhead Ave. At stop sign, turn left onto Packer Ave. Zoellner is last building on right.

As per our May Regular Meeting – Any future Assignment picture may be taken right after we pick the Assignment Name. So if you see a shot for the Assignment right after our meeting, go ahead and take it. Please do not post the image in our Gallery for Voting until the 1st of the Month.

Our meeting will consist of a short Business meeting and then the program which will be presented by Scott Nichol who is a Fine art Photographer. You may check his site out at http://www.silverystars.com/photo/still.html. Please be warned that there is Fine Art Nudity on his site and it may be inappropriate for young children.

The program that Mr. Nichol’s is giving may also contain Fine Art Nudity and it is up to the discretion of the Parents of any underage(18) children if they should attend this presentation. No children under the age of 18 will be admitted with out adult(18+) supervision.
